New River Beach

March 6th was an exceptional day.....cold, windy and sunny. You could feel the heat of the sun, however; the wind would blow you off the beach :) This is New River Beach, a short distance from here - just up the road a bit. This is one of my most favourite places to be in any season. You can smell the salt in the air,  and as you can see the tide is almost all the way out. A nice sandy beach to walk on, look for treasures and a whole LOTTA beach....I think we might have seen 6 - 8 people walking about..... and one dog.
There's a real nice campground here, a canteen, hiking trails in abundance. You can play on the beach all day or go kayaking, etc. This beach is also a great place to fly kites. There is also sand art/ sand castles contest every summer and always something going on to draw the crowds. I have walked the trails here many, many times and its all about forest and the beauty of the bay.
This sand dollar was wiggling his way up the beach, so I gently placed him in a pool of water until the tide came back in. Now, spending the day roaming the beach works up quite an appetite,  Comeau's Restaurant in Pennefield was next on the list. Mmmm, clams and chips and plenty of each. Mighty tasty and right out of the Bay.

What a lovely beach! I don't think I've ever seen a sand dollar alive! Good for you for helping this one stay that way. The clams and chips look spectacular and plentiful. :-)

That does look a beautiful beach. I like how empty it looks.

Tides mesmerize me. This prairie boy first met tides in northern Quebec. there were massive tides there up to 45 ft.

So very beautiful.

Marcy and I often daydream of visiting your beaches and you...

It looks very quiet, the season has not yet started. Great views over the water. The clams must have tasted very well after a bit cild walk.

Funny, Judie & I were talking just the other day about Comeau's and how much we loved their fish & chips. We'll have to head out there with you & Rosie after we get back to SS!

That looks like a nice place to visit. It's probably not that quiet in the summer though.

Aren’t you the lucky one!
A whole big beach to play on for just little old you. And your dog, no doubt?

I’d love to be closer to the sea but you can’t have everything.
